Silver Tunic/Dress (S/S 13 Island)

“It’s not a sparkling disco minidress that’s shiny and silver and perfect and holding everything in place. Life is not like that.”
-Rick Owens

As Dick Ovens says, life isn’t perfect. C’est la vie. But as far as “minidress that’s shiny and silver” is concerned, his is pretty comfy AF to get through life.

One of the advantages of being so short and petite is that I can wear any longer RO top as a dress.

This is one of my fav outfits bc it’s shiny without being gaudy–no glitter, no sequins. It’s just a double layer of this ultra thin material that’s a blend of nylon and silk. I just love that–the synthetic and organic interwoven. Because of the silk, it’s so smooth and breathable. The nylon gives it that liquid glint and crisp shape.

The color is not quite silver but it’s darker–titanium. It has the “the highest strength-to-density ratio of any metallic element.” And the dress is paradoxical like that–it looks sharp, stiff , yet it’s soft and as light as a feather.
