October: Pink Ribbon

I can’t believe it’s been 13 years ago since my mother had breast cancer. What the whole experience has taught me is that life is hard but we must persist and move on.

At the time I thought my mother would die and it’s the end of the world. Fortunately, her condition was only stage 1, and now she is fine after surgery and radiation. I’m so proud of my mother that she has started to take such good care of herself after cancer. She has taught me that it’s never too late to make a change for the better.

Here’s a cake to celebrate all the we had overcome, all that we have to look forward to, and, most importantly, to enjoy the here and now.
